Dr. Brad Clark is a
technical consultant with 12 years experience in software development and management best
practices. He specializes in the area of software product measurement and modeling. He has
given software measurement training; written software measurement plans; performed
independent analyses of measurement results; and developed models for cost, schedule, and
defect estimation. He has taught classes on software process definition, risk management,
size and cost estimation, and earned value. He has also designed data repositories for
storage of measurement and process data. While in graduate school, he worked on the COCOMO
II Cost Estimation Model Research Project. He helped define the model, collect and analyze
data, and calibrate the model.
Dr. Clark is currently a Research Associate with the Center for Software Engineering at USC continuing work on cost modeling with Dr. Barry Boehm. Dr. Clark is also a Visiting Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa. He works in the Software Engineering Measurement and Analysis group. He is developing a course on using software metrics to manage projects and he is developing a full lifecycle COTS model. Dr. Clark received his B.S. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Florida in 1978. He received a M.S. degree in Software Engineering in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1997.
